What to consider before buying

Consider your vehicle's hitch class, weight capacity, and whether you need weather protection. For long trips, a hard shell box offers security and aerodynamics; for occasional or bulky items, an open carrier is practical and cheaper. Check clearance for rear hatch or tailgate.
