What to consider before buying

When choosing a DS hand grip, consider your specific model (DS Lite vs DSi vs DSi XL). Official Hori grips are generally the highest quality but pricier. If you want a budget option, DreamGear or Tomee offer decent comfort. For added protection, silicone grips like Fintie are good. Also, think about whether you need an integrated stand for tabletop play.
